Now you’re seven!

You are Ms. Personality. You love to dance and dance and dance. You love to be the center of attention and you are fun. You asked your Mom if you could have a family party this year, so that's what you had. You are filled with energy, ideas and you are always on the go! You always seem to find something to give me, which I always adore. This year I asked you....what do you REALLY want for your birthday ....you thought about it for a few seconds and said, "I really want a mermaid suit"....so that's what I got you and you were more than delighted with your gift!

Valentine’s Day 2023

We had a fabulous Valentine’s Day party. I decorated the table and I made scripture verses and put them in heart shaped box for you. I made bags of candy where one of the featured items was a strawberry shake M&M’s. It was fun to watch your face light up and the thought of a new adventure in the world of candy. I had you draw numbers for the heart pillows and everyone took their time selecting. You were pleased with the one you picked out. Emma - you are a worker bee. This is how I’ve always known you to be. You take on any project and get it done quickly. Your sewing project was a teeny tiny pillow, for Barbie. We sat in the front room of my house, in the sunshine and listened to music while doing nails, sewing and enjoying eachothers company.

Your 6th Birthday

We celebrated your sixth birthday. Mom and Dad had a party at the church indoor playground. You were so excited and you had so much fun. You ran to me with a bracelet you had made me and then you wanted me to go in the playground and play with you. The other kids would be coming shortly so I took advantage of our time together and did it. I climbed to the top of the playground stair and all, crawling at some points to get to the top of this maze. You were so excited and showing me everything you could do, I as well was surprised I had made it up there and often questioned whether it would support my weight. Eventually we went down the double slide together. You were pleased with your gifts and had plenty of fun with your cousins and friends. ❤

You at 6

Emma- When you walked through the door the first thing you told me (note you are 6 years old). Grandma when I got to your neighborhood I started to feel real sad. I asked you why and you said, “because I don’t get to see you much and I really miss you.” Later the next day, when we were playing you told me, “when I have kids I’m going to bring them to your house”. My heart was so full from all the sweetness that comes from your heart towards me. You told me this was your 2nd sleepover you’ve had in your life and they were both relatives! You were slightly disappointed when you said, but I assured you there would be more at other friends homes some day. Your Mom told me that each day you have to bring an item from home, that starts with a letter of the alphabet. This particular day the letter was J but you had not brought anything. You asked the teacher for a yellow stickie. You wrote on it, the word, JOKE, and you stuck it to your forehead. You proceeded to tell a joke and there you had ‘created’ your own solution. The teacher was very impressed (and I am too)! That’s very high level thinking and problem solving.

Kindergarten Shopping

So today I took you shopping for kindergarten school clothes. You know exactly what you like and you know what you don’t like. You wouldn’t try the clothes on because you told me the tags scratch you….so I got you to at least hold them up to yourself. I got you three shirts, a dress and a necklace. For lunch, you picked McDonalds. You wanted to sit in the playground area, which we did. YOu wanted ME to play in the playground. You made friends with a little girl there and all around you had a fun day. We went home and got your sisters and everyone went to the store where I let you pick out a toy and some candy! We all had a great time! You were thankful and gave me a giant hug when we left. You also did my eye make up and told me I can make you look wonderful!

Giving heart

Emma when we were leaving your house today you ran and got some of your prized possession stuffed animals and gave them to Papa and I. I thought it was so sweet how you would think to share with us. You are always closely playing with Hannah when we come to visit you. You are outspoken and always express your needs without hesitancy.

Thanksgiving 2019

Emma, It’s Thanksgiving today and you were here at my house. You asked where the dress up clothes were first thing and pretty much Thanksgiving dinner is the last thing on your mind. Owen showed you were I had some suckers stashed and that was all you could think about was getting one of those suckers. What can I say, when you’re five years old suckers are a big deal. You had lots of fun playing with the cousins, but your closest buddy is Hannah.
